In a significant recognition of its outstanding performance, Aleut Demolition Services LLC, a subsidiary of Aleut Federal, LLC, has been awarded the 2025 Small Business Award from United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR). This accolade celebrates the company's contribution to the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM).
Since the initiation of UCOR's current contract in 2022, Aleut has been a key partner in OREM's critical cleanup initiatives, playing an integral role in the environmental restoration of affected areas. The annual awards presented by UCOR highlight the exceptional contributions of small business partners and how they facilitate the advancement of the cleanup mission.
Aleut has exceeded expectations by performing 85% of sub-contracted work, drastically surpassing the DOE’s goal of 45%. This remarkable effort has resulted in more than $770 million in contractual awards, showcasing the significant role that small businesses play within the industry. During the award ceremony, UCOR emphasized Aleut's pivotal work on the Alpha-2 utility reroute project at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The project was noted for highlighting the team’s responsiveness and technical agility in overcoming formidable challenges. UCOR remarked on how Aleut's adept management and problem-solving capabilities saved the project not only time but also substantial financial resources, affirming the company’s value in the field.
