Experience the Magic of Theatre at the 34th Katsushika Theatre Festival in October!

The excitement is building for the 34th Katsushika Theatre Festival, set to take place on the weekend of October 18th and 19th, 2025, at the Kameari Lirio Hall. Located just a three-minute walk from Kameari Station, this event promises to be a delightful gathering of community theatre groups showcasing their hard work and creativity.

Hosted by the Katsushika Theatre Festival Executive Committee, this year’s festival invites local theatre companies to come together and share their passion for performance art. With no admission fees and no advance reservations required, it’s an open invitation for all to enjoy an enriching cultural experience.

A Celebration of Community Theatre

The festival stands as an annual tradition where various theatre companies from within Katsushika converge to present their original productions. Regardless of the style or genre, the shared dedication to the craft is palpable in every performance. This year, notable groups such as Ren (劇団 蓮), Imageza (劇団 現芸座), Luce (ルーチェ), and many others will grace the stage to demonstrate their artistic expressions.

While theatre styles may vary, the collective spirit among the participating companies remains constant: a shared joy and passion for telling stories through live performance. As an added twist this year, the festival plans to engage the public by inviting them to serve as judges for the performances. Volunteers will evaluate each presentation, contributing to the selection of award winners that will be announced at the end of the festival.
