Neolix Technologies Joins Autoware Foundation to Advance Autonomous Driving Solutions Globally

Neolix Technologies Joins the Autoware Foundation

Neolix Technologies, a trailblazer in autonomous vehicle technology, has made headlines by officially joining the Autoware Foundation as a premium member. This significant partnership is expected to greatly influence the ecosystem of fully commercialized autonomous driving solutions.

The company's commitment to autonomous logistics solutions, exemplified by its RoboVan technology, sets it apart as a leader in the industry. Neolix boasts over 15,000 autonomous delivery vehicles currently in operation globally, making it the largest commercial fleet of RoboVans in the world. This expansive reach underscores not only the maturity of Neolix's technical capabilities but also the validation of its innovative solutions within the market.

Pioneering Innovative Technology

In 2025, Neolix achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first to launch and commercially deploy Level 4 autonomous driving technology that does not rely on high-definition maps. This breakthrough is pivotal, allowing their RoboVans to navigate complex urban environments with precision, even in challenging weather or pedestrian-heavy zones. The technology integrates advanced perception systems and AI-driven decision-making algorithms to enable real-time, centimeter-level positioning without the constraints of traditional mapping.

This advancement is more than just a technological feat; it also serves to significantly lower the costs and time needed for deployment. Neolix has developed a unique service model known as RoboVan as a Service (RaaS), which transforms autonomous fleets from high-investment assets into flexible service offerings. This approach not only reduces initial costs and operational complexity for clients but also accelerates the adoption of autonomous logistics solutions across various urban scenarios.

Setting New Standards

Neolix's leading-edge capabilities can be seen in its fleet in Qingdao, Shandong Province, where over 1,200 RoboVans constitute the densest autonomous fleet globally. Leveraging cloud-based distribution systems and real-time data loops fosters highly efficient and collaborative urban fleet operations, establishing a worldwide benchmark for city-scale autonomous delivery networks.

Additionally, Neolix's influence extends internationally. In October 2025, several Neolix RoboVans received clearance to operate on public roads in the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant first for autonomous vehicles in the Middle East.

Commitment to Open Source Development

As a member of the Autoware Foundation, Neolix is determined to use its commercialization experience and technical strengths to foster the open-source ecosystem that Autoware promotes. "Joining the Autoware Foundation is a critical step for Neolix's global open innovation strategy. As a leading commercial entity within the ecosystem, we aim to bridge the gap between open-source technology and practical commercial application," said Will Zhao, Executive Chairman of Neolix.

Zhao highlighted the company’s intent to collaborate with over 100 global members of the Autoware ecosystem to drive the development of safe, efficient, and deployable autonomous logistics solutions. They plan to leverage their scalable operational experience, from their flagship solution in Qingdao to the pioneering RaaS model.

Looking Ahead

With a strong focus on global expansion, Neolix aims to ramp up its international presence by 2026, targeting more than 10,000 deliveries abroad by the end of 2027. This ambitious global push, backed by proven commercialization, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to open innovation, positions Neolix as a leading force in shaping the future of logistics autonomy on a global scale.
