Hoymiles Launches HiBattery 4020 Series for Enhanced Solar Energy Storage Solutions

Hoymiles Unveils the New HiBattery 4020 Series

Hoymiles, a leader in solar technology, has officially launched its latest product line: the HiBattery 4020 series. This new energy storage system represents the third generation of Hoymiles' home battery solutions, aiming to enhance both safety and intelligence for solar energy applications. The HiBattery 4020 includes two models: the HiBattery 4020 X and the HiBattery 4020 AC. The former connects directly to photovoltaic modules, while the latter integrates seamlessly with existing solar systems to provide essential energy storage capabilities.

Advanced Features for Better Energy Management

Both models in the HiBattery 4020 series come equipped with a 4 kWh battery capacity, expandable up to 16 kWh with additional battery modules. These models feature a built-in inverter capable of 2500 W output, ensuring efficient energy conversion with a maximum DC/AC efficiency rating of 96.5%. The HiBattery 4020 X model boasts four MPPT inputs and can handle up to 4 kW of photovoltaic input, optimizing solar energy capture for enhanced performance.

The HiBattery 4020 series is designed to not only reduce dependency on the grid but also to ensure a constant power supply during outages for vital appliances such as refrigerators, lighting, and medical devices. Additionally, the systems are capable of maintaining power in isolated settings, providing solutions for remote homes and off-grid environments.

AI-Powered Energy Management System

A standout feature of the HiBattery 4020 is its AI-based Energy Management System (AI-EMS), which is driven by a proprietary AI model trained on over 30 million parameters. Unlike traditional systems that operate on fixed daily schedules, the HiBattery 4020 recalibrates its energy strategies every three hours, based on electricity pricing, weather forecasts, and household consumption patterns.

Key functionalities of the AI-EMS include:
  • - Time-of-Use Optimization: The system utilizes a continuous three-hour cycle to dynamically adjust charging and discharging strategies for optimal electricity cost savings.
  • - Energy Logging: An intuitive visual panel that tracks energy consumption, savings, and system performance in real time, enhancing user engagement and understanding.

Unmatched Safety and Reliability

Safety is paramount in the HiBattery 4020 series. Utilizing automotive-grade LiFePO4 battery cells, the system incorporates a robust 48-layer Battery Management System (BMS) that includes intelligent cell balancing, extensive hardware-based safety measures, and even an integrated aerosol fire suppression system. Additional safety features include:
  • - Overload relief and anti-overheating protection for the photovoltaic input.
  • - Intelligent self-heating capabilities that adjust according to solar surplus and loading conditions, maintaining operational stability from -20°C to 55°C.
  • - Dust and water resistance rated at IP66.
  • - CC/CC balancing at the module level, ensuring compatibility between new and existing battery modules for fuss-free scalability.

These enhancements guarantee exceptional durability for both indoor and outdoor use, addressing the challenges of everyday accidents and harsh environmental conditions. Dr. Yang Bo, CEO of Hoymiles, emphasized, "For energy storage to be genuinely accessible, it must fundamentally prioritize safety. The HiBattery is designed to deliver peace of mind in every situation, whether in daily use or in unexpected emergencies."

The HiBattery 4020 series will be available for purchase across Europe starting June 2026, promising to reshape the landscape of home energy storage and provide users with smarter, safer, and more efficient energy solutions.
