GAC Introduces AION UT and AION V in Italy, Expanding European Operations

GAC Launches AION UT and AION V in Italy

On October 8, GAC made headlines by unveiling its latest electric vehicles, the AION UT and AION V, during an event held at Superstudio Più in Milan. This launch represents a crucial step in GAC's strategy to enhance its presence in the European automotive market, catering to the growing demand for electric cars.

AION UT and AION V: Key Features

The AION UT, designed by GAC's European team in Milan, boasts a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and offers a substantial WLTP range of up to 430 km. Its compact dimensions are complemented by a thoughtfully designed interior that maximizes passenger space, making it an attractive option for urban driving.

In contrast, the AION V serves as the brand’s fully electric SUV alternative, effectively catering to those seeking comfort and versatility. With an impressive WLTP range of up to 510 km, it is equipped with features like a built-in heat pump, adjustable rear seats, and a three-layer storage compartment, providing both practicality and luxury for its users.

Media and Test Drive Event

Over 40 journalists and industry representatives attended the launch event, underscoring the excitement surrounding GAC's entry into the Italian market. The event also featured an exhibition titled “From Concept to Reality,” showcasing scale models of concept vehicles developed by GAC Advanced Design Milan over the years. This exhibition highlighted the design capabilities of the team alongside the two newly launched vehicles.

Following the presentations, over 30 journalists participated in test drives. The route taken in the AION UT covered 15 kilometers of urban streets from Via Tortona to the Abbey of Chiaravalle, while those driving the AION V navigated a 20-kilometer course through urban and suburban settings. This allowed participants to experience both vehicles in realistic driving conditions, showcasing their performance and features effectively.

GAC's Strategic Vision

The introduction of these models in Italy aligns with GAC’s overarching strategy, titled “In Europe, For Europe.” This initiative includes local vehicle design and assembly operations, aiming to solidify GAC's footprint and expertise in the European automotive sector.

As part of this plan, GAC is collaborating with Magna for local vehicle assembly in Austria, and partnering with renowned European suppliers such as Bosch and Continental. These collaborations aim to enhance efficiency and product quality within the European market.

Moreover, GAC is establishing a European after-sales service center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, ensuring a robust support system for its customers across the continent. GAC proudly announces a spare parts delivery rate exceeding 95%, with parts shipped within 36 hours to various destinations across Europe, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Global Outlook

The launch not only enhances GAC's product offerings but also reflects the brand's ambitious vision for international growth. Currently, GAC’s products are marketed in 121 countries and regions worldwide. Notably, during the first eight months of 2026, GAC successfully exported over 172,000 vehicles, marking a remarkable 136% increase compared to the same period last year.
