Realtor.com and NAR Unite for Transformative Disaster Housing Relief Initiatives

Realtor.com® and NAR's Groundbreaking Disaster Housing Relief

In a significant announcement made during the renowned SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, Realtor.com® and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) revealed a strategic partnership to bolster the efforts of the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF). This year marks a milestone for RRF as it celebrates 25 years of dedicated service in providing vital housing assistance to families affected by disasters across the nation.

A Lasting Commitment

This initiative reflects a deep commitment to supporting families in their time of need, especially after disasters that threaten their homes and livelihoods. Realtor.com® CEO Damian Eales, alongside Chief Consumer Marketing Officer Mickey Neuberger, highlighted the critical role that stable housing plays in ensuring financial security and safeguarding generational wealth. During the announcement, Neuberger presented a $100,000 contribution to RRF's Immediate Past President, Mike McGrew, underlining the company's dedication to enhancing disaster relief efforts.

Realtor.com®’s efforts do not stop with the substantial monetary contribution; they also aim to raise awareness and encourage donations throughout the foundation's anniversary year. With this landmark donation, Realtor.com® aspires to become RRF's largest contributor in 2026, joining them at the prestigious Vanguard Club level.

The Importance of the REALTORS® Relief Foundation

Founded in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, RRF helps families overcome financial hurdles that arise in the wake of natural disasters. The foundation provides grants that cover mortgage payments, rent, and temporary housing costs, ensuring that every contribution is used effectively. NAR ensures that 100% of donations go directly to assisting those affected, having distributed over $52 million in aid to more than 30,000 families since its inception.

Voices of Gratitude

“Over 25 years, the REALTORS® Relief Foundation has been a beacon of hope for communities in times of crisis. Homeownership is a cornerstone of generational wealth, and we strive to prevent temporary calamities from becoming lasting setbacks,” remarked Neuberger during the announcement. The focus on community support reiterates the organization’s mission of providing immediate assistance and fostering resilience among affected families.

Responding to Recent Disasters

The recent floods in West Virginia serve as a poignant reminder of the ongoing need for such support. In their aftermath, the grants provided by RRF played a pivotal role in assisting families as they navigated the challenges of rebuilding their lives. Stories emerging from the crisis reveal the profound impact that the REALTORS® have made. As Sandi Blankenship, a grant recipient and local resident, expressed, “You’ll never find enough time for me to sing the praises of what this team of REALTORS® did for us.”

Raising the Community's Voice

To commemorate the RRF's 25th anniversary, the organizations jointly invite the broader real estate community, as well as individuals, to join in this noble mission. Contributions can be made at fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/RDCRRF26 or by sending a text to 71777. To further amplify support, Realtor.com® commits to matching every eligible donation dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 until May 31, thus enhancing potential total funding to $200,000.
