Hengrui Pharma Takes Center Stage at ESMO Congress 2026

Hengrui Pharma, a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry, is gearing up to present a remarkable 64 research findings at the upcoming European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, taking place in Madrid, Spain, from October 23 to 27, 2026. This year's participation marks their eleventh consecutive year in the conference, and the quantity of research findings sets a new record for the company.

Among the diverse presentations, attendees can expect to see three Proffered Paper presentations, three Rapid Oral presentations, as well as a combination of 32 Posters and 26 e-Posters covering groundbreaking studies across more than ten oncology and supportive care areas. Notably, the findings emphasize significant advancements in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting HER2 and HER3, which are pivotal in the treatment of breast and lung cancers.

Innovations in Antibody-Drug Conjugates for Breast and Lung Cancers

Two of Hengrui's independently developed ADCs have been highlighted for Proffered Paper presentations: HER2-targeted trastuzumab rezetecan (SHR-A1811) and HER3-targeted ruzaltatug rezetecan (SHR-A2009). The studies conducted on these agents revolve around addressing pressing treatment needs within breast and lung cancer patient populations.

One of the key studies, HORIZON-Breast06, led by Academician Binghe Xu from the Cancer Hospital at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, focuses on trastuzumab rezetecan’s therapeutic potential in HER2-low advanced breast cancer. This randomized phase 3 study aims to reveal the drug's effectiveness in this specific cohort.

Simultaneously, HERON-Lung01, spearheaded by Professor Yi-Long Wu of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, will present interim analyses of ruzaltatug rezetecan compared to traditional platinum-based chemotherapy for patients with EGFR-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have shown progression after treatment with EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

As part of Hengrui's ongoing commitment to innovation, these ADCs have also begun to receive significant attention globally. For instance, the marketing application for ruzaltatug rezetecan was accepted for review by China’s National Medical Products Administration in July 2026. Moreover, it has been awarded Fast Track designation by the US Food and Drug Administration for its use in specific NSCLC cases.

Expanding the Clinical Landscape: Established and Emerging Therapies

Alongside these ADC innovations, Hengrui Pharma's established PD-1 inhibitor, camrelizumab, will feature prominently at the conference. The UNION phase 3 trial investigates the effectiveness of this drug in conjunction with neoadjuvant short-course radiotherapy and chemotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer. Additionally, Rapid Oral presentations will unveil important findings on Nectin-4-targeted ADC SHR-A2102 in recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer and early results for the KRAS G12D inhibitor HRS-4642 combined with chemotherapy.

The potential application of HRS-4642, designated as a breakthrough therapy in China for first-line treatment of advanced or metastatic KRAS G12D-mutant pancreatic cancer, exemplifies Hengrui's focus on developing solutions for some of the most challenging cancers.
