Reju and Circle-8 Team Up to Enhance Textile Recycling in the UK

An Innovative Partnership for Textile Recycling

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability, Reju™, a progressive textile regeneration company, has announced a partnership with Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems. This collaboration aims to foster a robust circular textile economy in the United Kingdom, tackling the pervasive issue of textile waste.

The agreement, unveiled on July 17, 2025, emphasizes the critical role Circle-8 will play in supplying materials for future European regeneration centers operated by Reju. The innovative process begins with consumer textile waste, which will be processed at Circle-8's first digitized facility designed for automated sorting and pre-processing of textiles (ATSP). This streamlined operation not only enhances material recovery but also enables Reju to repurpose these materials into its own recycled product, Reju Polyester™, which boasts a carbon footprint that is 50% lower than that of newly produced polyester and can be infinitely recycled.

Patrik Frisk, CEO of Reju, remarked, “Partnering with the growing ecosystem of Circle-8 and the ATSP allows us to enhance the efficiency of our textile recycling processes. The ultimate goal is to deliver premium products that meet Reju's rigorous standards for quality polyester. As awareness regarding textile waste rises among consumers and manufacturers, it becomes imperative to develop automated and efficient processes at the locations where textile waste is generated.”

The partnership between Reju and Circle-8 is anticipated to contribute significantly to building the necessary infrastructure for material processing in the UK. This initiative aims to pave the way for British brands and retailers to transition into a circular textile industry. With Circle-8 providing large quantities of pre-sorted and processed input materials for Reju's patented regeneration technology, this alliance ensures efficiency, accuracy, and scalability to manage over 700,000 tons of disposable textile waste produced annually in the UK.

Cyndi Rhoades, co-founder and CEO of Circle-8, emphasized, “Reju and Circle-8 are jointly committed to delivering true and limitless textile recycling right here in the UK and across the globe. This partnership underscores the significance of collaboration and innovation in transforming textile waste into viable raw materials. As global regulatory bodies increasingly coordinate efforts to address textile waste, Reju and Circle-8 are dedicated to implementing scalable solutions that will fulfill regulation demands while promoting a sustainable future.”

The Vision Behind Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems

Circle-8 aims to revolutionize the future of materials through a circular economy. They are focused on establishing an ecosystem and infrastructure needed for the textile recycling industry, driven by the design, construction, and operation of automated sorting and pre-processing facilities. The goal is straightforward: transform disposable textiles into raw materials for fiber-to-fiber recycling processes. Circle-8's ultimate aim is to introduce industrial polymer recycling facilities for textiles within the UK, developing essential partnerships across the entire textile value chain to prevent the export, landfill, and incineration of around 700,000 tons of disposable textiles produced every year.
