Savills Enhances Its Service Portfolio with Acquisition of Hoffman and Compustall Services

Savills Expands Its Reach by Acquiring Hoffman and Compustall

In a significant move to enhance its consulting and relocation services, Savills has announced the acquisition of Hoffman, a renowned move management consultancy, alongside Compustall Services, Inc., a provider of technology relocation services. This strategic acquisition is set to bolster Savills’ integrated service platform, allowing for a more seamless solution for clients navigating complex workplace transitions throughout various sectors and regions.

Rick Hoffman, the founder of Hoffman, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "In the spirit of continuity, stability, and growth for our team and our clients, I've decided it's the right time to join a global company led by people I know and trust. With Savills' extensive platform and resources, we're poised to grow in substantial ways together."

Founded in 1987 in New York City, Hoffman has built a strong reputation as a specialist in office relocations. Over the years, it has diversified its offerings to serve a wide array of sectors, including headquarters, healthcare facilities, laboratories, trading floors, media studios, and educational campuses. The firm manages both single-site and portfolio relocations, overseeing projects encompassing a remarkable total of approximately 10 million square feet each year. On the other hand, Compustall Services, renowned for managing seamless IT transitions during workplace relocations, adds valuable expertise to the Savills suite of services.

Hoffman will continue to operate under the leadership of Rick Hoffman and his team, as part of Savills' North America Relocation Management. Savills CEO David Lipson highlighted the long-standing collaboration between Hoffman and Savills across various sectors like legal, healthcare, and education, where effective workplace transitions are crucial. "This acquisition allows us to provide essential relocation services that enhance the employee experience throughout the life of a lease," said Lipson. "When executed properly, these services positively influence productivity and employee engagement, and we're proud to welcome one of the best providers in the industry into our fold."

The newly formed Savills Relocation Management will accompany clients through all aspects of their occupancy journey, from initial move-ins to ongoing transitions, and even end-of-lease decommissioning. This extension of capabilities means that Savills clients will benefit from a broader range of services including planning, logistics, relocation, activation, technology support, storage, and decommissioning—delivered via a consistent and scalable national process.

Michael Glatt, President of Savills North America Project Management, remarked, "Hoffman has been a trusted partner to many of our clients, and we are excited to consolidate our efforts. Together, we are building on an existing relationship propelled by a shared commitment to exceptional service. Our teams will collaborate closely with Savills Change Management and other consulting sectors to ensure integrated support for complex transitions."
