Pal Line Supports Disaster Relief with Fleet Donation
In a notable gesture of community support, Pal Line Co., Ltd., a logistics company based in Koto City, Tokyo, is donating five light trucks to the Peace Boat Disaster Relief Center (PBV) in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This donation is part of an effort to repurpose vehicles that have completed their delivery roles within the Pal System Group, which is well-known for its commitment to social responsibility through sustainable practices.
The trucks, each with a capacity of 1.5 tons, will be handed over during a presentation ceremony scheduled for May 16, 2025, at the Pal System Tokyo Hachioji Center. The event, set to start at 11:00 AM, aims to highlight the importance of collaboration in disaster response efforts.
A Second Life for Delivery Trucks
These five trucks, previously engaged in Pal System's delivery operations, will now assume their 'second life' by serving crucial purposes in disaster relief. PBV plans to utilize these vehicles to transport vital supplies to areas impacted by significant disasters. They will play an essential role in delivering relief materials and operating mobile kitchens when large-scale emergencies arise.
The relationship between PBV and the Pal System Group dates back to the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 when both entities began collaborating on disaster response initiatives. Their partnership has continued to evolve, as evidenced by their joint effort to support communities affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2024, using funds contributed by Pal System's members.
