ALPS Medical Clinic: Elevating Athlete Support
In a significant move to enhance the lives and performances of athletes, ALPS (Athlete Life & Performance Support) has established the ALPS Medical Clinic, a general incorporated association designed to provide comprehensive support. With its focus on elevating athlete performance, ALPS is expanding through its facilities known as ALPS Studio, both domestically and internationally.
Locations and Global Outreach
ALPS Studio will operate from three locations in Japan, two in Shinagawa and one in Sapporo, while also marking its presence in the United States with a partnership with PHITEN USA located in Torrance, Los Angeles. Following successful test marketing, the clinic will also launch operations in Hawaii in early 2026. This venture is a collaboration with prominent partners in the industry, including renowned sports manufacturer PHITEN USA and the well-established talent agency Sun Music, which boasts over 50 years of experience.
Rationale Behind ALPS Studio
The foundation of ALPS Studio is deeply rooted in the philosophy of "Athlete Life & Performance Support." Recognizing the critical importance of providing a conducive environment for athletes to focus on their sport and attain optimal performance, the decision to establish ALPS Studio came after understanding the necessity of specialized treatment and excellent training staff through direct interaction with athletes striving to compete internationally.
Distinct Features of ALPS Studio
- - Network of Elite Professionals: ALPS Studio promises to pair athletes with top-tier therapists and conditioning trainers, utilizing both domestic and international networks to ensure comprehensive care.
- - Customized Training Programs: Each athlete will benefit from tailored training plans developed in accordance with their unique physical characteristics, sports specialization, and specific goals. The integration of cutting-edge AI technology into these training regimens aims to optimize performance outcomes.
Treatment and Training Leadership
The treatment division will be spearheaded by Kuniyoshi Okikura, a physical therapist with over 20 years of rehabilitation experience, who is gaining attention for his unique therapy technique known as the "six-layer interconnected manipulation." The conditioning program will be facilitated by highly recognized trainers in the sports industry focused on maximizing athletes' potential.
Partnerships and Media Support
Sun Music’s CEO, Hiroyuki Oka, is dedicated to supporting athlete media exposure, helping them secure sponsorships and managing public relations and media interactions to fortify their presence both on and off the field.
Joe Furuhata from PHITEN USA aims to ensure that athletes competing on the world stage have access to the best possible support from Los Angeles through their collaboration with ALPS.
Future Plans
The general incorporated association ALPS Medical Clinic is set to officially launch in July 2025, with a focus on supporting athletes primarily. Following this, the ALPS Studio will open in October 2025 aimed at enhancing conditioning and performance. Additionally, a sports clinic for athlete care will open in November 2025 in Musashi-Koyama, Shinagawa.
