Astyra Corporation's New Headquarters Unveiled



On October 22, 2025, Astyra Corporation proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new headquarters located at the historical Barret House in Richmond, Virginia. This auspicious occasion was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by significant figures including Brian Anderson, President and CEO of ChamberRVA, and Floyd Miller, CEO and President of The Metropolitan Business League.

The event not only signified the unveiling of Astyra's new operational hub but also represented a milestone in the narrative of Black business ownership within the city of Richmond. The Barret House, constructed in 1844 for the wealthy tobacconist William Barret, stands as a testament to the city's rich architectural heritage. The significance of this purchase becomes ever more poignant under the leadership of Astyra’s co-founders, Ken Ampy and Sam Young, who envision a revitalization of such spaces through community-centric investments.

During the open house, attendees were invited to explore the renovated property through guided tours filled with educational placards that highlighted various locations of historical importance within the house. Each placard offered insights and stories about the original functions of the home, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the mid-19th century atmosphere while appreciating its role amid Richmond's storied past.
