Creative Yoko’s Charitable Gesture Towards Animal Welfare in Japan

Creative Yoko’s Charitable Gesture Towards Animal Welfare in Japan

On July 30, 2025, Creative Yoko Co., Ltd. conducted a donation ceremony at its Tokyo office, which was held in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The ceremony benefited two prominent organizations in animal welfare - the Japan Animal Welfare Association and the Japan Guide Dog Association. The company recognizes that a harmonious relationship between pets and humans contributes significantly to community wellbeing.

During the event, the company's president, Mr. Takeyuki Kitahara, presented donation certificates to Mr. Akihiro Hirose, Executive Director of the Japan Animal Welfare Association, and Mr. Atsushi Matsuo from the Japan Guide Dog Association. Mr. Kitahara expressed that Creative Yoko is committed to nurturing a future where pets, humans, and the broader society thrive together.

Donations to the Japan Animal Welfare Association

Creative Yoko's pet product brand, Pet Paradise, underwent a rebranding in November 2024, adopting the purpose statement, “A New Relationship Between Pets and Humans.” This initiative emphasizes the notion that pets are family and aims to spread a shared perspective, promoting deeper, mutual relationships between pets and their owners. It highlights how the presence of pets enriches human lives and provides emotional support.

The newly established project, “#Pets and Humans,” intends not only to enhance product planning and store operations but also to champion animal welfare and social contributions. Through this project, the company focuses on educating the public about the importance of life, safeguarding animal welfare, and increasing the number of happy animals in society. The recent donation is a testament to their alignment with the objectives of the Japan Animal Welfare Association. A portion of the sales from Pet Paradise stores across the country and online, along with participation fees collected from a recent sustainable workshop held in Yokohama's MARK IS Minato Mirai shopping complex, contributed to this donation.

Support for the Japan Guide Dog Association

The partnership with the Japan Guide Dog Association is an ongoing component of Creative Yoko's corporate social responsibility initiatives since 2010. This support focuses on the breeding of guide dogs that assist visually impaired individuals in safe mobility and promoting the social inclusion and independence of people with disabilities. The donation made to the association stems from funds collected through donation boxes located at Pet Paradise stores nationwide.

Guide dogs are not merely animals; they serve as invaluable partners providing essential support for visually impaired individuals, facilitating daily travel, and enhancing social participation and employment opportunities. However, training guide dogs requires significant resources and effort, most of which is sustained through donations and contributions from the community. The current situation reveals a concerning gap between the increasing number of individuals in need of guide dogs and the available supply, presenting an urgent societal challenge regarding the maintenance and enhancement of breeding environments.

Creative Yoko remains committed to addressing these realities and aspires to continue its supportive endeavors for the advancement of guide dog education and the improvement of coexistence between humans and dogs in society.
