National Prosecco Week 2025: A Celebration Like No Other
As the excitement builds for the upcoming
National Prosecco Week 2025, set to run from June 2nd to 8th, the Prosecco DOC Consortium is thrilled to announce the addition of numerous retail partners, making this year's event the most extensive yet. With more than 2,000 stores participating nationwide, this campaign promises to spotlight America's love for Prosecco like never before.
One of the major highlights of this year's celebrations is the involvement of
Total Wine & More, which joins the festivities as a first-time participant. This retailer alone will feature dedicated in-store displays across 276 of their locations and offer unique online promotions. Established players like
Costco, which leads with an impressive 517 participating stores, also return to support the festivities, increasing their visibility through both in-store promotions and digital marketing across social media platforms.
Other notable contributors to the campaign include
Binny's, a well-known wine and spirits retailer in the Midwest;
Albertsons, along with its California stores—
Vons and
Pavilions; and the Texas-based
Twin Liquors, continuing their long-standing tradition of excellence. Retailers such as
Buy Rite and
Bottle King out of New Jersey also join in this national celebration.
This growing coalition of retailers reflects the increasing popularity and demand for Prosecco DOC in the United States, especially following a record-breaking year in 2024. President of Consorzio Prosecco DOC,
Giancarlo Guidolin, expressed his confidence about this year's campaign, stating:
“This year's campaign is set to be a major success, and we are thrilled by the growing participation and continued support, despite the challenges the wine industry is facing.”
The numbers speak for themselves; between January to November 2024, imports of Prosecco to the US surged by
19%, totaling an astounding
9.8 million cases. Last year, America imported
120 million bottles of Prosecco DOC, generating approximately
$1.74 billion for the American market.
In 2024, production of Prosecco DOC reached a remarkable
660 million bottles, marking a 7% increase from 2023, with a total market value of
€3.6 billion. The category's robust growth is underscored by the
Prosecco DOC Rosé, which accounted for sales of
60 million bottles—a phenomenal
20% increase year-on-year, representing
10% of all Prosecco sales.
