Cirba Solutions Hosts Recycling Event for Old Batteries on World Environment Day in Mesa

Uniting for a Greener Future

As we observe World Environment Day, it is crucial to highlight the often-overlooked issue of battery disposal. Many individuals are unaware of the importance of recycling batteries or the environmental hazards posed by improper disposal methods. Cirba Solutions, a leader in battery recycling, is stepping up to address this gap by organizing a community recycling event in Mesa, Arizona.

Event Details

On June 4, from 9 AM to 4 PM, residents and businesses in Mesa will have the opportunity to responsibly recycle their old batteries for free at Cirba Solutions' facility located at 618 E Auto Center Dr., STE 111. The company is eager to educate the public while providing them with an easy way to dispose of used batteries and promote environmental sustainability.

Cirba Solutions will accept a wide range of battery types: lithium-ion, alkaline, lithium primary, zinc carbon, nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lead acid (non-spillable), mercury-containing devices, silver oxide batteries, and even small electronics like cell phones and power tools. Additionally, it aims to ensure that hazardous, damaged, or defective batteries are properly handled. However, attendees should note that larger electronics, such as televisions and appliances, will not be accepted.

To facilitate safe handling, battery terminals should be taped with clear tape before arrival, and a vehicle can drop off up to 200 lbs of batteries.

Why Recycling Matters

Batteries are integral to our daily lives, powering everything from smartphones to household appliances. However, many people are unaware that these power sources contain valuable materials that can be recycled and reused to create new batteries. It’s vital not only from an environmental perspective but also for conserving resources. Daniel Beltran, the Plant Manager at Cirba Solutions’ Mesa facility, stresses the environmental impact of improper disposal, underscoring the urgency of battery recycling.

“Battery recycling isn’t just good practice; it is essential for protecting our communities,” Beltran states.

Empowering the Community

The initiative by Cirba Solutions is a proactive step towards raising awareness about recycling and making it more accessible for everyone. Aside from providing a drop-off point, the event serves as an educational platform where community members can learn about the recycling process and the significance of responsible battery disposal.

Residents attending the event can expect informative discussions covering everything from the recycling methods used by Cirba Solutions to the overall importance of sustainability in managing electronic waste. By engaging with the community, Cirba Solutions hopes to foster a culture of recycling that extends beyond just this event.

Conclusion

The World Environment Day recycling event organized by Cirba Solutions presents a unique opportunity for Mesa residents to contribute to a more sustainable future. By simply gathering unused batteries from homes and offices and participating in this community-focused initiative, individuals can take significant steps towards reducing environmental impact.

We encourage everyone to take part in this event and witness firsthand how small actions can lead to significant positive outcomes for our planet. For more information about Cirba Solutions and their recycling efforts, please visit their website.
