Haileybury Astana Launches State-of-the-Art Sci-Tech Hub for Education

Haileybury Astana Unveils a Cutting-Edge Sci-Tech Hub

In a groundbreaking development for education in Kazakhstan, Haileybury Astana has officially launched its newest facility, the Sci-Tech Hub, aimed at integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in an innovative educational environment. The opening ceremony on October 11, 2025, featured prominent figures, including Kazakhstani Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova and the newly appointed British Ambassador Sally Axworthy, emphasizing the importance of this initiative in the context of Kazakhstan's educational goals.

A Vision for the Future

Located within the Haileybury campus in Astana, the Sci-Tech Hub spans over 3,000 square meters and is designed to foster creativity and practical learning among students. The facility boasts modern laboratories, flexible classrooms, and collaborative areas that encourage an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Specifically, it includes dedicated spaces for robotics and mathematics, classrooms equipped with 3D visualization tools, and interactive learning environments, all constructed to international standards.

Ian Hunt, Chair of the Board of Governors at Haileybury Astana, highlighted the Hub's role as a pivotal center for the school community, also stating, "The Sci-Tech Hub will serve not only our students but will also host national and international competitions for talented students from across Kazakhstan. With our scholarship program, we aim to expand access to high-quality education and nurture the next generation of scientists and innovators."

Investment in Education

The Sci-Tech Hub was completed in an impressive timeframe of just ten months, with a total investment of 3.4 billion KZT contributed by Verny Capital. Aidan Akanov, CEO of Verny Capital, noted that this initiative reflects their commitment to social responsibility and the promotion of education in Kazakhstan. "In collaboration with our key stakeholder Bulat Utemuratov, we will continue to invest in projects that strengthen the country's human capital and create sustainable opportunities for young people," he stated.

The future vision for the Sci-Tech Hub includes establishing partnerships with leading international research and educational institutions. This will provide students with valuable opportunities to work on real-world scientific challenges under expert guidance, further enriching their learning experiences.

As Haileybury Astana progresses with these ambitious plans, the new Sci-Tech Hub stands as a beacon of innovation and educational excellence, paving the way for future generations of learners in Kazakhstan. In the years ahead, it promises to be a significant contributor to the country's educational landscape, fostering a strong foundation in STEM disciplines that will serve students and the wider community well into the future.
