Emporia Energy Partners with Treehouse to Ease EV Charger Access for Homeowners

Emporia Energy Teams Up with Treehouse for EV Charger Accessibility

In an exciting effort to enhance electric vehicle (EV) adoption across the U.S., Emporia Energy has launched a new credit program and streamlined installation process for residential EV chargers. This innovative initiative is made possible through a strategic partnership with Treehouse, a leading software-enabled electrification company that specializes in facilitating home EV charging installations.

$100 Credit and Simplified Experience

Customers who choose to purchase an Emporia Level 2 EV charger on the company’s website will benefit from a $100 credit and an estimated installation process that takes less than two minutes. By partnering with Treehouse, Emporia is alleviating the common hurdles homeowners face, such as finding a qualified electrician and navigating separate installation fees. Treehouse manages everything from design and quoting to the necessary permits and the installation itself, providing a user-friendly and efficient end-to-end solution.

Shawn McLaughlin, CEO of Emporia Energy, shared insights about this initiative: “A seamless and cost-effective installation experience is an essential part of the EV adoption journey. By teaming up with Treehouse, we are excited to offer our customers a straightforward method to purchase and set up an EV charger without the usual complexities.”

Addressing Infrastructure Challenges

Many homes in America may not initially be equipped to handle the electrical demands of a Level 2 charger. With the new partnership, expensive panel upgrades can be avoided thanks to Emporia's PowerSmart load management feature. This addition ensures that homes can support the charging needs effectively while preventing unnecessary costs.

According to the International Energy Agency, new EV registrations in the U.S. surged to 1.4 million in 2023, marking a 40% increase compared to the previous year. However, the expansion of charging infrastructure continues to lag behind the rising number of EVs on the road, leading to a pressing need for affordable and trustworthy installation solutions. Emporia and Treehouse aim to tackle this
