Infostellar Forms Strategic Collaboration with NorthBase
Infostellar, a provider of Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS) for satellite operators, has recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NorthBase, a ground station service provider based in Finland. This collaboration will integrate NorthBase's ground station antenna located at 68 degrees North in Finnish Lapland into Infostellar's cloud platform, StellarStation.
The agreement marks a significant milestone for both companies as it allows for strategic marketing and sales collaboration in ground station services, along with the flexible sharing of ground station assets. At the core of this partnership is Infostellar's cloud platform, which virtualizes the ground station network, enabling satellite operators to access multiple ground stations owned by different operators through a unified interface. By setting up the service just once for each mission, operators can easily connect to any ground station within Infostellar's network.
With the addition of NorthBase's ground station, users of StellarStation will gain enhanced value. The NorthBase site in Muonio is equipped to offer S-band and X-band services, providing exceptional visibility for polar orbiting satellites. Besides GSaaS, the site also features advanced infrastructure and security measures for antenna hosting services.
Statements from Company Leaders
Naomi Kurahara, CEO of Infostellar, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, "The collaboration with NorthBase adds a powerful new base to the StellarStation network, enhancing the convenience for our customers. At the same time, it bolsters our presence in Europe and allows us to expand our service offerings in the rapidly growing European market."
Tommi Rasila, Chairman of NorthBase, noted, "Partnering with Infostellar is a crucial step for our company in expanding global GSaaS capabilities. By merging both companies' networks and expertise, we can provide more agile and reliable ground station services to satellite operators worldwide."
