Tadanori Yokoo's Special Exhibition and Sale at Morioka Shoten
From November 11 to 23, 2025, Morioka Shoten in Ginza will host a remarkable exhibition and sales event dedicated to the celebrated modern artist Tadanori Yokoo. This event commemorates Yokoo's iconic creations from the 1960s and 70s while also showcasing companion books that highlight his unique artistry.
Overview of the Event
The overall event period runs from November 11 to 23, with a break on November 17. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition from 1 PM to 7 PM at Morioka Shoten, located at 1F Suzuki Building, 1-28-15 Ginza, Chuo Ward, Tokyo 104-0061. This exhibition includes both the artist's original works and limited edition prints for collectors and fans alike.
Week 1: Highlighting "TADANORI YOKOO Masterworks 1960s-70s"
During the first week of the exhibition, from November 11 to 16, the focus will be on Yokoo’s
"TADANORI YOKOO Masterworks 1960s-70s." This collection features a handpicked selection of his most significant works produced during his early career, and it has been meticulously compiled into a special oversized A2 format art book, limited to just 300 copies worldwide. Each book is also signed by Yokoo himself, making it a true collector's item.
Additionally, three offset posters titled
“TADANORI YOKOO,” “腰巻お仙,” and
“ガルメラ商会” will be displayed, with the latter two available for purchase as signed editions.
Week 2: Showcasing "僕のY字路Painting" and "僕とY字路Photograph"
The second week of the event, from November 18 to 23, will feature two more books:
"僕のY字路Painting" and
"僕とY字路Photograph." These works celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Y-intersection concept created by Yokoo and will provide insights into the artist's exploration of visual and photographic narratives.
These books are set for simultaneous publication on Yokoo's 89th birthday, June 27, 2025, and will include a rich array of paintings and photographs reflecting the enigmatic qualities that drew Yokoo to the subject of Y intersections. Expect to find five unique prints available for sale during this week.

Tadanori Yokoo, born in 1936 in Hyogo Prefecture, is a renowned contemporary artist known for his vibrant and innovative visual works. He had his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1972 and has since exhibited in prestigious biennales and art museums worldwide. Yokoo has received numerous accolades, including the Mainichi Art Award, the ADC Hall of Fame induction, and various cultural honors from the Japanese government. His contributions to literature include novels and essays that delve into the intricacies of art and personal experiences.
