Voltage Energy Unveils Cutting-Edge Wiring Solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026
From June 23 to June 25, 2026, the Voltage Energy Group, renowned for its leadership in electric infrastructure solutions for large-scale solar projects, made a significant impact at Intersolar Europe in Munich. The firm showcased its flagship pre-assembled cable solutions, LYNX PLUS and IBEX PLUS, as part of a comprehensive approach to electrical balance of system (EBOS) architecture tailored for the next generation of high-voltage solar energy projects.
Transforming Solar Infrastructure with Innovative Solutions
As the demand for larger solar projects increases, developers face mounting challenges related to installation complexity and resource allocation. Voltage Energy is rising to this challenge by moving beyond traditional cable supply. Their pre-assembled solutions cover a wide range of current ratings, aiming to improve installation efficiency and long-term system reliability. These advanced systems can reduce cable consumption by up to 33% and installation time by 50%, which accelerates project rollouts and enhances construction efficiency.
Bob Slack, the Chief Technology Officer at Voltage Energy, emphasized, "Solar project developers face increasing pressure to deliver larger projects with limited installation resources within tighter timelines. We believe that the future of EBOS lies in integrated system solutions that simplify deployment, reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and prepare clients for transitions to higher voltage architectures."
A Diverse Range of Solutions for Various Current Requirements
Voltage Energy's portfolio comprises several solutions, including LYNX PLUS, IBEX PLUS, LYNX, IBEX, and ALEX. The LYNX PLUS system is specifically designed for high-current applications, accommodating busbars of up to 400 mm² (853 A). This capability allows for a voltage drop reduction of up to 34% compared to conventional systems utilizing 240 mm² cables, while also eliminating the need for traditional junction boxes, simplifying both installation and future maintenance.
On the other hand, the IBEX PLUS system caters to critical medium-current ranges from 70 to 168 A. With an innovative design comprising 97% flexible aluminum cable, it is 41% lighter than conventional copper counterparts, leading to substantial capital expenditure (CapEx) savings of up to 27%. Hybrid interfaces combining copper and aluminum provide additional flexibility while optimizing material and logistical costs.
Preparing for High-Voltage Solar Systems
In its pre-assembled EBOS solutions, Voltage Energy incorporates cutting-edge aluminum conductors with enhanced flexibility, optimized electrical schematics, and architectures ready for 2 kV operation. These advancements not only improve installation efficiency but also keep pace with the evolving needs of the large-scale solar market. Both LYNX PLUS and IBEX PLUS systems have already received UL certification for 2 kV systems in the U.S., with European certification processes nearing completion, facilitating a broader adoption of modern EBOS solutions in the European market.
