Third Edition of Volunteer Contest Launched by Las Torres Patagonia
Las Torres Patagonia, a renowned tourism company, in collaboration with SKY Airline, has announced the launch of the third edition of its ambitious initiative titled
"10 Volunteers for 10 Days". Building on the achievements of the first two editions, this contest invites individuals from various countries to play a pivotal role in the rejuvenation of the trails leading to the iconic
Base Torres Viewpoint in
Torres del Paine National Park. This year's event is poised to be especially significant, as it marks the inauguration of a new phase of the project, which includes the unveiling of
3.3 kilometers (approximately
2.05 miles) of newly developed trail.
Key Details of the Contest
The regeneration project includes the construction of a
1.5-kilometer pedestrian trail and a
1.8-kilometer logistical trail designed specifically to separate the flow of horseback operational traffic from pedestrian visitors. This initiative not only enhances safety for hikers but also improves the overall hiking experience, while prioritizing environmental protection in this stunning natural setting.
The trail leading to Base Torres Viewpoint is renowned for being one of the most frequented routes in the park, making its restoration all the more crucial. The efforts will significantly benefit the thousands of travelers who flock to Chile to witness the breathtaking geological formations and the extraordinary native flora and fauna found in the region.
