Michter's Distillery to Launch 2025 Legacy Series Whiskeys

Michter's Distillery, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, will unveil its latest offerings in the Legacy Series this July. The much-anticipated whiskeys, Shenk's Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey and Bomberger's Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon, are set to delight connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike. Vintage-dated to showcase the bottling year, these distinctive whiskeys represent two-thirds of the Legacy Series, with a third member, Bomberger's PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain), added to the lineup this year.

The Legacy Series carries forward the rich heritage of Michter's, tracing its roots back to 1753 when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk established the original distillery in Pennsylvania. This establishment later became known as Bomberger's Distillery in the 1800s, eventually evolving into Michter's Distillery in the mid-20th Century.

A unique feature of this release is its finishing in toasted but uncharred French oak barrels, crafted from wood sourced from the Vosges forest. This meticulous process enhances the rye character of the whiskey, resulting in a vibrant expression that's sure to please.

With an impressive proof of 91.2 (45.6% ABV), Shenk's will be available at a suggested retail price of $110.

Bomberger’s Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon

On the other hand, Bomberger's Declaration exhibits complexity and depth, thanks in part to the careful selection of barrels used in maturation. Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson has highlighted the significant influence of Chinquapin barrels on this year’s flavor. The barrels' unique aging process, which involves wood seasoned outdoors for varying durations, contributes to a multi-dimensional tasting experience.

This release has a higher proof of 108 (54% ABV) and will retail for $120, making it a premium addition to any whiskey collection.
