The Japanese Olympiad in Informatics is organized by the Japan Olympiad in Informatics Committee, aimed at students below the senior year of high school. This competition assesses mathematical and information science skills, featuring two main branches: the Japanese Olympiad in Informatics (JOI) and the Women's category known as JOIG. The JOI serves as a selection process for Japan's representatives at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) scheduled for 2026 in Uzbekistan, while the JOIG selects participants for the 6th European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI).
