PBA World Series of Bowling XVII to Showcase 2026 PBA Tour on CBS in Historic Live Broadcast

PBA World Series of Bowling XVII Set to Shine on CBS in 2026

The bowling community is gearing up for an exciting new chapter as the PBA World Series of Bowling (WSOB) XVII heads to CBS and Paramount+ for its 2026 season. This year's event, scheduled from April 29 to May 12 in the greater Minneapolis area, promises to be a phenomenal showcase for professional bowlers worldwide.

For the first time, CBS will give extensive coverage of eight different PBA events, including staple events such as the USA vs. The World and the PBA Elite League Battle of the Brands. According to PBA Tour Commissioner Tom Clark, this partnership with CBS Sports marks an unprecedented leap in the promotion and visibility of bowling, delighting fans with live broadcasts and additional coverage around the events.

The Structure of PBA WSOB XVII

PBA WSOB XVII will consist of five title events as well as the PBA50 World Series of Bowling, highlighting a collaborative effort in the bowling community. This marks the first time ever that both championships will run concurrently, adding variety and excitement.

One of the major highlights of the event will be the PBA World Championship, the final major title of the season, which will be aired live on CBS and Paramount+ from Strobl Arena at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan, on June 13. A semifinal round will precede it on CBS Sports Network, promising thrilling competitive action.

America's Top Talent in Action

The competitive atmosphere will heat up with captains EJ Tackett and Jason Belmonte, acclaimed bowlers from the PBA ranks, leading their respective teams at the USA vs. The World match debuting on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio. Tackett, having clinched all PBA Player of the Year honors since defeating Belmonte in 2023, is set to lead the Americans and redeem their pride in this heavily anticipated confrontation.

Belmonte aims to maintain his dominance with an international team, replicating the success achieved in their last encounter. The continuous rivalry between these two bowlers adds a captivating layer to the overarching narrative of the events.

Elevating PBA50 Tour Visibility

The PBA50 Tour returns to national television for the first time since 2009, providing new opportunities for experienced bowlers to gain recognition and competition. The PBA50 WSOB IV will also feature championship rounds for PBA animal pattern championships covered by CBS Sports Network, creating more engaging viewing experiences.

Looking Ahead

Anticipation builds further with two additional events lined up in June: the PBA Elite League Battle of the Brands and the PBA Norm Duke Open. The former will crown the champion with the coveted Manufacturer’s Cup awarded after a multi-stage series of matches starting June 20. Meanwhile, the PBA Norm Duke Open replaces the traditional PBA Tour Finals and will take place over several days in June.

With the promise of unprecedented coverage and engagement during this landmark season, the PBA Tour fosters a sense of community among bowlers and fans alike. As the host of engaging sports events unfolds, CBS continues its 14-year tradition of airing the PBA Tour, taking professional bowling to new heights.
