Empowering Women's Health Startups: Organon's New Accelerator Program in META Region

Organon Expands Women's Health Accelerator Program

Introduction
Organon has proudly announced the launch of the third edition of its Women's Health Accelerator Program, extending its reach to the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META). This initiative aims to empower digital health entrepreneurs focusing on family planning, fertility, and women's wellness. Supported by Flat6Labs, the program will connect innovative startups with key regional investors, facilitating funding, market testing, and business model refinement.

Program Highlights
This year's program is particularly notable as it opens its doors to applicants from Sub-Saharan Africa for the very first time, widening its impact even further into regions like Ukraine. Entrepreneurs who join this 2025/26 cohort will gain access to a vast network of professionals including academics, healthcare providers, and policy advisors, through workshops and mentoring sessions. In a unique twist, previous winners of the Accelerator will return as mentors, creating a cycle of empowerment where past participants help guide new applicants.

The Vision Behind the Program
The Women's Health Accelerator has been designed specifically to tackle ongoing challenges in women's healthcare by promoting digital solutions that cater to these essential needs. Research indicates that closing the gender health gap could contribute an estimated £1 trillion to the global economy by 2040, highlighting the vast social and economic benefits of investing in women's health. Organon’s initiative not only aims to foster innovation but also commits to directly investing in promising innovators, providing them with mentorship, access to investors, and a global network to enhance their growth and societal impact.

Voices from Organon
Ramy Koussa, Associate Vice President of Organon for the META region, expressed, “By expanding our Accelerator Program across the META region, we are doubling down on Organon’s commitment to invest in innovation for women’s health. Digital health innovation can enable earlier detection, personalize care, and expand access on a large scale. With this third edition and our expansion into Africa, partnering with others who share our vision will help bridge significant health gaps and advance women’s health.”

Previous Successes
Since its introduction in 2022, the Women's Health Accelerator has received around 500 applications and supported over 20 companies. Out of these, six winners emerged, including firms like iYoni, Siira, and Maternally. Looking ahead, a demo day scheduled for early Q2 2026 will allow finalists to present their innovative solutions to a panel of judges, comprising investors and healthcare experts, from which three winners will be selected.
