Midea Unveils Groundbreaking Eco-Friendly Innovations at IFA 2025 to Reinforce Low-Carbon Vision

Midea's Revolutionary Innovations Unveiled at IFA 2025

Midea, the global leader in HVAC technology, made headlines at the IFA 2025 trade show in Berlin, where it reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability under the mantra of “GREEN VISION, BLUE FUTURE.” The company presented a remarkable range of eco-friendly innovations designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions significantly. These signature technologies underscore Midea's long-term dedication to environmental responsibility within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.

Leading with R290 Refrigerants

A central feature of Midea's exhibition was its innovative solutions utilizing R290 refrigerants, a eco-friendly alternative the company has championed for over 15 years. Since launching the world's first demonstration production line powered by R290 in 2010, backed by the UN, Midea has become a pioneer in integrating this environmentally safe refrigerant into mainstream markets. Currently, Midea operates 12 advanced R290 production lines that deliver an impressive annual capacity of 6.4 million units, providing practical solutions that promise notable reductions in carbon emissions globally.

Midea's significant role in shaping international standards for refrigerant applications accentuates its commitment to hastening the adoption of natural refrigerants like R290 across various industries. With the support of over 10,000 R&D experts and 42 pilot labs, Midea offers a comprehensive range of products based on R290. One of its flagship products is the H-Pack hybrid heat pump, designed by Midea’s European team. This innovative unit uses R290 to deliver high energy efficiency in a compact design without an outdoor unit, ensuring reliable heating even in extreme cold weather by seamlessly integrating with gas boilers.

Raynor: The Epitome of Efficiency and Design

Another highlight at the show was Raynor, Midea’s top-of-the-line low-temperature air-to-air heat pump. With an impressive energy class rating of A+++ and an industry-leading SCOP rating of 5.1, Raynor stands out as one of the most efficient heat pumps available today. Prototype testing has demonstrated its ability to operate reliably at temperatures as low as -40°C, providing full heating output of 5.0 kW at -25°C and peaking at 8.0 kW.

Built to last, Raynor's design includes advanced protection against freezing and corrosion, featuring Prime Guard Hyper Grapfins, a specially designed casing with a heating bottom plate, and durable ceramic ball bearings with Flash Defrost technology. This combination of longevity, efficiency, and innovative design has already garnered Raynor international acclaim, including the prestigious iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award. At IFA 2025, Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management, presented Midea executives Vincent Chou and Ralph Kobsik with the Excellent Heating Technology Innovation Gold Award, acknowledging the product's leadership in next-generation heating solutions.

Solstice: AI-Driven Comfort

Midea also introduced Solstice, an AI-powered air conditioner featuring a 180-degree adjustable deflector that expertly controls airflow for unparalleled heating and cooling comfort in everyday life. The foundation of Solstice lies in Midea’s latest AI engine, ECOMASTER. Trained on billions of data points, ECOMASTER can predict environmental changes and optimize energy consumption with remarkable accuracy. This allows Solstice to maintain a comfortable temperature within ±0.3°C while reducing energy usage by over 30%.

Midea has announced plans to collaborate with Microsoft to develop natural voice control powered by AI, enabling users to interact with their air conditioners in everyday language across 145 supported languages.

Midea showcased its dedication to sustainability during IFA 2025, marrying cutting-edge engineering, exquisite design, and profound market understanding to facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. The company continues to provide energy-efficient solutions that strike a balance between ecological responsibility and everyday comfort.
