2025 Koenmiya Cup Hockey Japan League Schedule Announcement
The Hockey Japan League (HJL), led by Chairman Makiyoji, has unveiled the schedule for the highly anticipated 2025 hockey season. This season marks the second year of the "Hockey Reform" initiative, aimed at making hockey more enjoyable for a larger audience. With an increase in home games and the addition of one team each for both men and women, the league is set to ramp up engagement and competition.
League Structure
The league comprises two main divisions: the Samurai League and the Sakura League. Both divisions are structured to enhance competitiveness and provide thrilling matches throughout the season.
Samurai League

- - Division 2: Starting on April 19 and ending on the same day as Division 1, Division 2 will also follow a double round-robin structure.
- - Relegation Playoffs: On November 30, a crucial match will determine promotions and relegations between teams ranked 7th in Division 1 and 2nd in Division 2. Notably, the team finishing in 8th place in Division 1 will automatically demote to Division 2, while the top team in Division 2 will elevate to Division 1.
