Eoptolink Unveils Next Generation 1.6T OSFP Transceivers at OFC 2025
Eoptolink Launches Next Generation 1.6T OSFP Transceivers at OFC 2025
In a significant stride towards enhancing optical communication technology, Eoptolink Technology Inc., Ltd. has unveiled its second-generation 1.6T OSFP (Octal Small Formfactor Pluggable) and OSFP-RHS transceivers during the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2025 in San Francisco. As a leader in providing advanced optical transceiver solutions, Eoptolink is set to demonstrate the capabilities of these innovative transceivers to a global audience.
This latest generation of transceivers, which operates on a cutting-edge 3nm Digital Signal Processor (DSP), offers numerous enhancements aimed at optimizing power consumption and monitoring capabilities. Notably, the new 1.6T modules exhibit approximately 20% reduction in overall power consumption, a crucial development as data demands continue to rise across networks worldwide.
Enhanced Monitoring Features
The 1.6T OSFP and OSFP-RHS transceivers are equipped with groundbreaking VDM (Virtual Digital Monitoring) functionalities that enable real-time reporting of pre and post Forward Error Correction (FEC) bit error rates, along with symbol error distributions. These features are particularly valuable for telecommunications providers and data center operators seeking to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
Among the new offerings are two prominent modules: EOLO-13T-5H-xDxx, featuring a 2DR4 OSFP design with dual MPO-12 connectors, and EOLO-16T-02-xxx, which is a 2FR4 OSFP equipped with dual duplex LC connectors. Both configurations are available in Silicon Photonics and EML (Electro-absorption Modulated Laser) variants, catering to a broad spectrum of use cases within the AI/ML Cluster, Cloud Data Center, and 4G/5G wireless market segments.
Expanding the Market Potential
Eoptolink’s VP of Sales, Sean Davies, emphasized the strategic significance of these advancements: “The transition to 3nm DSPs will tremendously accelerate the adoption of 1.6T transceivers. With a growing number of 200G SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) based Ethernet platforms emerging, our addressable market is expanding substantially. Furthermore, the reduction in power requirements coupled with advanced monitoring capabilities is proving beneficial for Ethernet equipment manufacturers and hyperscale cloud service providers.”
The company is also set to conduct live demonstrations of its vast optical transceiver solutions—including a groundbreaking 1.6T product, an 800G transceiver, and LPO (Low Power Optical), LRO (Low Latency Optical), and MCF (Multicore Fiber) solutions—at their booth (#2943) during the OFC 2025 conference.
