Experience Summer Flavors with Hanagasumi’s Exclusive Nori Bento
From June 1 to July 30, 2026, the renowned kaiseki restaurant
Hanagasumi at
Meiji Kinenkan is delighted to present a limited-time offering: the seasonal takeout nori bento, titled
Natsu no Sachi (Summer Delights) priced at 4,000 yen (including tax). This bento is designed to highlight the essence and flavors of summer, transforming the traditional nori bento into a sophisticated culinary experience.
A Culinary Journey
The
Natsu no Sachi is a reimagined version of the classic nori bento, combining nostalgic elements with the finesse unique to Hanagasumi. Each dish is prepared with utmost care, utilizing carefully selected ingredients that encapsulate the essence of summer. Center stage is a beautifully grilled unagi (eel), paired with simmered sweetfish (ayu) and crispy corn cake, among other seasonal delights. Additional ingredients like sweet bell pepper, grilled lotus root, and blanched spinach add vibrant colors and flavors, ensuring a distinct taste experience with each bite.
The bento features a two-tiered arrangement. The first tier showcases the exquisite unagi and various accompaniments, while the second tier is filled with fragrant rice cooked with seasonal ingredients like
Dada-cha beans and clams—bringing forth a seasonal richness in every mouthful. Finishing touches include finely shredded egg, sansho leaves, seaweed, bonito flakes, and pickled myoga, creating a refreshing aroma and flavor that lingers delicately until the last bite.
Ideal for Any Occasion
This thoughtfully crafted nori bento is not just a meal, but an experience. Whether you enjoy it during a special moment at home or while embarking on summer excursions, the
Natsu no Sachi is the perfect companion. Note, however, that advanced reservations are mandatory. To enjoy this delicacy, orders must be secured by 5:00 PM the day prior to pickup.
