UnionPay Offers Exciting Discounts for International Visitors This Summer

UnionPay's Summer Shopping Discounts for International Travelers



As international travel continues to thrive, UnionPay is introducing an enticing discount campaign specifically designed for visitors to Japan this summer. Beginning July 15, 2025, travelers can enjoy fabulous savings when using their UnionPay cards at major airports and select stores throughout Japan.

Discounts at Major Airports and Travel Stores


Foremost, visitors will benefit from discounts available at key airports including Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Chubu, and New Chitose. To qualify, UnionPay cardholders must register in advance, and subsequently make purchases with their cards:
  • - Spend over 10,000 yen to receive a 400 yen discount
  • - Spend 30,000 yen or more for a discount of 1,500 yen
  • - Spend over 60,000 yen to save 3,500 yen

In addition to airport savings, certain partner stores are also participating in this campaign. At ALEXSANDER & SUN, cardholders can receive:
  • - A discount of 1,000 yen for purchases exceeding 60,000 yen
  • - A discount of 2,000 yen on spends over 100,000 yen

Transportation Card Discounts


Alongside shopping incentives, UnionPay is also offering a transportation card campaign. From July 1 to August 31, 2025, cardholders who use their UnionPay cards registered in their iPhone wallets to top up Japanese transportation IC cards (like Suica, PASMO, or ICOCA) with over 7,000 yen will receive an instant discount of up to 1,000 yen. Each card can be used once for each type of IC card, making it a great opportunity for travelers moving around Japan. However, it's important to note that this offer is limited and will expire once the allocation runs out.

Summer Promotions at Don Quijote and Matsuya Ginza


UnionPay is also running significant promotions at popular retail locations. From July to August, shoppers at Don Quijote can enjoy random discounts based on their expenditure with UnionPay cards:
  • - Spend 10,000 yen or more for a discount up to 800 yen
  • - Spend 30,000 yen or more with discounts up to 4,000 yen available

Meanwhile, Matsuya Ginza will offer substantial savings for pre-registered UnionPay cards during the specified period. For purchases over 100,000 yen, customers will receive a discount of 3,000 yen, and for amounts over 200,000 yen, the discount will be 8,000 yen.
