Surge in Leisure Travel Anticipated for 2025

According to the recent Internova Index from the Internova Travel Group, a significant rise in leisure travel across America is expected in 2025. This anticipated increase is attributed to a robust desire among travelers to explore new destinations, as well as the continuing importance of travel advisors in the trip planning process—a resource American travelers seem increasingly eager to utilize.

The Internova Index, which encapsulates insights drawn from a survey of 3,000 travelers across various demographics, reveals a striking 22% increase in the average number of international trips taken by respondents over the past year compared to 2023. As we look toward 2025, 25% of respondents reportedly plan to take more leisure trips of all types next year. This trend appears consistent across various age groups and income levels, suggesting a widespread enthusiasm for travel that transcends demographics.

The surge in domestic travel is largely driven by individuals planning trips within their own regions. However, the increased interest in international destinations particularly favors luxury travelers, with 60% of respondents indicating their intent to consult travel advisors for their 2025 trip bookings.
