CapCloud Recognized for Excellence in Telework
CapCloud Inc., headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has proudly announced its recognition as a
Telework Top Runner 2025 by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs. This accolade reflects the company's commitment to its corporate philosophy of “Work Style, Personalization,” emphasizing innovative approaches in telework implementation and usage. Following their accolades in 2023, CapCloud continues to push the boundaries of modern work practices.
What is the Telework Top Runner 2025?
The Telework Top Runner initiative recognizes companies that excel in incorporating telework into their operations. The criteria for selection focus on innovative practices in telework adoption, such as promoting remote work and employment in locations with limited access, thereby contributing to local revitalization.
A Look into CapCloud's Initiatives
CapCloud's approach to creating a flexible work environment aligns with the ongoing labor shortages attributed to an aging population. Beyond simply being a welfare measure, telework represents a vital business strategy for attracting diverse talents and ensuring the sustainability of operations. Below are the key practices that led to CapCloud's recognition:
1. Significant Cost Reduction via Office Space Optimization
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees transitioned from traditional office settings to telecommuting. CapCloud eliminated a monthly office rent of 1.2 million yen, now using a flexible shared office space with private rooms for small groups and a communal lounge for larger teams. This strategic shift resulted in remarkable cost savings, reducing monthly expenses to just 400,000 yen.
2. Strengthened BCP through Diversified Work Locations and Hours
In June 2020, CapCloud introduced a “Work Style Selection System” that gives all employees the autonomy to choose where—be it the office or home—and when to work, within a flexible time frame (from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. with no breaks or limits). This initiative allows for a range of working styles, ensuring business continuity during emergencies such as childcare needs or disasters.
3. High Satisfaction Rate Among Remote Workers
A recent survey revealed that
93.3% of the 30 employees engaged in regular teleworking expressed satisfaction with their work arrangements. Significantly, nearly 40% of respondents were caregivers, while about 20% managed long-term health issues, indicating that telework accommodates diverse personal circumstances. Key advantages cited include the efficient use of commuting time, peace of mind regarding childcare, and a more focused work environment.
The success of telework implementation at CapCloud can be attributed to a well-rounded framework comprising tools, systems, and corporate culture. By integrating IT tools to support diverse working conditions and establishing policies that offer financial assistance for remote work, CapCloud ensures that telework becomes a standard aspect of its corporate DNA. Furthermore, the continuous development of these policies according to internal and external circumstances is seen as crucial for long-term success.
