Creating an Inclusive Society: Sakura Juji Inclusive Sports Festa 2025

On November 16, 2025, the "Sakura Juji Inclusive Sports Festa 2025" will be held at the Risunoko Square in Fukuoka City, aiming to create a society where everyone can participate and enjoy various sports activities. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the best part is that participation is entirely free!

The Sakura Juji Group, which primarily focuses on healthcare and welfare, is dedicated to promoting well-being across all aspects of life. Their motto, “Fulfilling Life in the Age of 100 Years,” reflects their commitment to creating an environment where physical, mental, and social well-being are prioritized. This event is designed for individuals of all ages—including children, seniors, and people with disabilities—encouraging everyone to partake in the festivities without barriers.

Event Details

The festival will feature a wide range of activities including walking events, wheelchair rugby, and a boccia tournament—ensuring there's something for everyone! Here are some highlights to look forward to:

Walking Event (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM)

Kick off the day with a walking event starting from the Risunoko Square, passing through Ōhori Park and Nishikōen before returning to the square. Supported by a walking therapist, participants will learn about efficient walking techniques while enjoying the fresh air. There’s no need to worry about distance, since everyone can walk at their own pace, and a special participation gift awaits those who complete the walk!

Wheelchair Rugby Experience (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

Experience the thrill of wheelchair rugby, the official Paralympic sport, in this engaging booth! Participants can learn about this exciting sport from members of the "Fukuoka DANDELION," a renowned team featuring Japanese national players who recently brought home the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Witness the excitement as athletes share the sport's appeal while allowing participants to try their hand at wheelchair rugby.

High-Five World Record Attempt (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

Join in the fun as we attempt to break the world record for high-fives in one minute! Form a circle with 100 participants of all ages, while one runner tries to achieve as many high-fives as possible within the time limit. The current Guinness World Record stands at 277—let’s aim to set a new one!

Risunoko Mural Art Unveiling (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM)

A mural art project initiated in July will reach its culmination during the event. Renowned artist maruiko will unveil a stunning mural created with input from local residents and supported by student volunteers from Kyushu Sangyo University. This will be a great chance to hear the artist share the inspiration behind the piece, so be sure to check it out!

Besides the highlighted events, there will also be inclusive bowling, a survival game, endurance tests, and numerous other activities like mini sports competitions and traditional Japanese festival stalls. Food trucks and a bubble show will add to the festive atmosphere!

The Importance of the Sakura Juji Inclusive Sports Festa

This festival serves as a cornerstone for the Sakura Juji Group’s mission to promote well-being within the community. We envision a world where fun and learning happen side by side, helping individuals understand what an inclusive society looks like. By fostering physical, mental, and social happiness, we aim to contribute to both societal development and community engagement.

In the words of the organizing committee, “We aim for a well-being society where everyone can enjoy this sports festival! We’ve increased the number of corporate booths this year, so you’ll find various career experience opportunities alongside fun activities suitable for young ones!”
