Exploring the Land of Creation: 'Vivid Ghosts' Exhibition at Paichu Gallery

'Vivid Ghosts' Exhibition

From May 15 to June 13, 2026, Paichu Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo, will host the group exhibition 'Vivid Ghosts,' showcasing the artistic journey of four recent graduates from prominent art universities. This initiative by The Chain Museum aims to observe the current states of these emerging artists, offering insight into their evolving practices and perspectives beyond graduation.

The exhibition features Emika Tsunoda, Yuu Tomooka, Nanami Hamauzu, and members of the Service Center of Contemporary Art. Each artist will present a range of works, from past endeavors to new creations, reflecting their artistic continuity and evolution.

Graduation often symbolizes a significant transition, marking both an end and a beginning. However, the transition isn’t always a clear demarcation. In line with this concept, the exhibition will delve into each artist's previous work and broader research interests, encouraging visitors to contemplate the relationship between their past and present artistic expressions. Attendees can anticipate diverse artworks that explore themes such as continuity, reinterpretation, and the intertwining of time in art.

Additionally, the exhibition will serve as part of a recurring series, aiming to create a layered documentation of the artists' practices over time. Each installment will adopt a designated keyword to encapsulate the prevailing themes and situations, allowing audiences to reflect on the year's artistic expressions and cultural context.
