NCA All-Star Nationals Crowns New Champions in Houston

The NCA All-Star National Championship 2026, hosted by Varsity Spirit, marked a memorable celebration of cheerleading, dance, and community spirit in Houston, Texas. Taking place from February 27 to March 1, this high-energy weekend attracted over 80,000 attendees, including 32,000 athletes and coaches, alongside more than 1,500 competing teams.

In this year’s event, participants enjoyed not only the competition but also an extensive showcase of talent that highlighted the skills and dedication of cheerleaders from across the nation. Bill Seely, President of Varsity Spirit, commented on the occasion, stating, “Every year we see the athletes at the NCA All Star National Championship raise the standard for our sport. Houston did an incredible job of welcoming us and supported every competitor.” This sentiment perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the event, which enhanced the relationships between athletes, coaches, and fans.

To kick off the championship, a special Pro Cheer League match was held, allowing Senior Level 6 teams to perform highlights from their upcoming routines. The performance order, determined by current Varsity Cheer League rankings, created an exciting atmosphere as fans got a glimpse at the skills these top contenders possess.

A standout moment of the championship was the presentation of the 2026 “Go Be Great” award to the Hot Shots All Stars Dream Team from Rome, Georgia. This team exemplified leadership through community service, raising over $20,000 for local initiatives and logging more than 400 volunteer hours. Their commitment to building stronger teammates through kindness, humility, and empowerment truly set them apart.

Since its inception in 1995, the NCA All-Star National Championship has served as the premier platform for cheerleaders to be recognized for their athleticism, talent, and entertainment value. Over the years, it has grown beyond its initial scope to become an inclusive celebration of cheerleading, dance, and community involvement.

For fans unable to attend, the championship weekend was live-streamed on Varsity TV, providing thorough coverage of the competition, including videos of performances and complete results listings. This initiative allowed even more enthusiasts to engage with the event and celebrate the achievements of participants.

Among the winners who secured a paid bid to the USASF Cheerleading Worlds were teams like CheerForce San Diego Lady A and Prodigy All Stars Twilight, showcasing the caliber of competition present at the event. This year’s nationals reaffirmed the growth of the all-star cheerleading movement, with participants embodying passion, determination, and the spirit of competition.
