How the 'Zero Waste Project' Works

The Zero Waste Project from BIOTECHWORKS-H2 focuses on utilizing non-recyclable organic waste, converting it into high-purity hydrogen through gasification instead of incineration. This hydrogen can then be transformed into renewable energy for local communities. Future Prospects

With a processing capacity of 200 tons per day, the startup estimates it can generate up to 20 tons of hydrogen daily. This amount translates to a maximum power generation capacity of approximately 250 MWh, enough to supply electricity to around 20,000 households. The goal is not only to reduce CO₂ emissions but also to create a viable economic model where waste management and energy revenues are aligned. The company plans to expand this model nationally and internationally, aiming for operational plants in multiple locations by 2030. They also foresee this project serving as a model for local energy supply systems, contributing to the circular economy.
