THE STEPS: A New Creative Hub Set to Open in Hatagaya by 2025

Upcoming Opening of THE STEPS in Hatagaya

In a blend of history and modern innovation, THE STEPS is poised to make its debut in Hatagaya, Tokyo, in October 2025. This multi-purpose facility, developed by Realgate, a company renowned for managing over 100 creative office buildings in urban areas, aims to revitalise a 52-year-old structure into a vibrant space that merges shops, offices, and community engagement.

A Project Rich in Heritage

Realgate, headquartered in the heart of Shibuya, has taken on the ambitious challenge of transforming the former headquarters of Yokomori Seisakusho into what will soon be THE STEPS. Located within the unique cultural convergence of Hatagaya, this area is nestled between the bustling districts of Shibuya and Shinjuku, embodying a rich cultural identity that continuously evolves. Rather than altering the essence of Hatagaya, this renovation project seeks to honor its heritage while paving the way for a bright future.

A Pet-Friendly Community Hub

Understanding the importance of community, THE STEPS aims to be pet-friendly, fostering interactions among residents and their pets. This initiative reflects the warm, welcoming atmosphere that owners hope to magnify, connecting with the local lifestyle where people stroll with their pets.

Ground Floor Offerings

On the ground level, THE STEPS will feature two dynamic providers: Sedai Coffee & Roasters and hebeerry! wineshop, a natural wine shop and bar. Sedai, which began as a modest coffee shop on Shibuya's Cat Street, offers specialty coffees and light snacks throughout the day, smoothly transitioning into an evening atmosphere featuring natural wines and craft beers. This unique pairing of establishments aims to create a social intersection for Hatagaya residents and visitors.

Engaging Lounges for Residents

Across the second to fourth floors, The STEPS will provide exclusive lounges for tenants, meticulously crafted by BaNANA OFFICE, an interior design firm. Centered on the concept of
