A Vision for Improved Cancer Care
Dr. Crystal S. Denlinger, the CEO of NCCN, remarked, "This is truly the future of cancer treatment guidance. Evidence shows that following trusted international guidelines improves patient outcomes in prevention, detection, treatment, and palliative care for cancer. We are proud to have achieved our ambitious goal of increasing access and usability of the NCCN Guidelines content without compromising quality."
Initially, the NCCN Guidelines Navigator launched with beta testing for colorectal and prostate cancers, followed by rectal cancer guidelines that became available on June 16, 2025. The NCCN plans to continue expanding this platform to cover all 88 NCCN Guidelines, ensuring users have the latest information at their disposal for cancer care.
As an additional resource, the NCCN has developed the NCCN Guidelines in Practice™, which allows users to earn Continuing Education/CME credits while accessing the guidelines.
The NCCN is also actively working on optimizing this new tool by integrating artificial intelligence capabilities to make the navigation process even more intuitive and conversational.
Dr. Denlinger emphasized, "It has been 30 years since we launched the NCCN Guidelines; millions across the globe use them every year, with over 90% of surveyed oncologists in the U.S. relying on them. As cancer care becomes more effective yet increasingly complex, the NCCN Guidelines Navigator simplifies rapidly evolving evidence from the latest research, places expertise at the point of care, and supports decision-making and education for those involved in cancer management."
Overall, the NCCN Guidelines Navigator embodies a comprehensive approach to supporting cancer patients and their healthcare providers, promoting equitable and effective cancer prevention and care for all.
