Supporting Kumamoto's Recovery: Handy Corporation's Initiative for Job Placement and Education Enhancement

Handy Corporation's Contribution to Kumamoto's Recovery

In light of the recent Kumamoto earthquake, Handy Corporation, based in Tokyo, is making strides to support the local economy and educational environment of Kumamoto Prefecture. The company has launched a special initiative called the "Kumamoto Recovery Support Plan" aimed at assisting local businesses in their recruitment efforts for high school students graduating in 2027. This initiative includes the no-cost provision of their job listing service platform, "Handy Career Guidance Room," specifically developed for high school students.

Details of the Recovery Support Plan

The Kumamoto Recovery Support Plan is designed to help local companies secure talented young individuals as part of their new graduate hiring process. By offering a free access period to their premium job listing service, Handy Corporation aims to eliminate barriers faced by schools and businesses in connecting with potential candidates. The plan is available for companies headquartered in Kumamoto Prefecture until the end of March 2027, and it targets only those businesses that are actively hiring for new graduates from local high schools.

To reflect their commitment, Handy Corporation has stated that companies based outside of Kumamoto with branches in the region will not qualify for this plan. Interested companies can apply or seek more information through their official website: Handy Contact Page.

Generous Donation for Educational Enrichment

In addition to the recruitment initiative, Handy Corporation has also made a significant contribution of 5 million yen to enhance the educational environment for high schools affected by the earthquake in Kumamoto. This donation utilizes a unique form of "corporate hometown tax" donation to support reconstruction and improved facilities for local educational institutions. Besides physical donations, the company is also offering counseling sessions for the implementation of the Handy Career Guidance Room during the summer vacation period. This move addresses the needs of students facing difficulties in commuting to school as well as schools that require assistance in hosting company visits.

“The objective of these efforts is to foster connections between local businesses and students in Kumamoto, paving the way for better career choices and opportunities for young individuals,” said Yasuhiko Ohta, CEO of Handy Corporation.
