Hisense Leads the Silent Green Revolution in Home Entertainment Technology
Hisense and the Green Shift in Home Entertainment
In today’s world, where sustainability is becoming increasingly vital, Hisense is at the forefront of a silent green revolution in the home entertainment industry. As a global leader in consumer electronics, the company is dedicated to advancing energy-efficient innovations that not only enhance user experience but also contribute positively to the environment.
Every year, millions of households participate in Earth Hour by switching off their lights for 60 minutes, but the narrative of sustainability extends far beyond this symbolic act. It encompasses the technologies that remain powered on throughout the event, particularly those found in our living rooms. With home electronics increasingly intersecting with daily life, Hisense recognizes the urgent need to enhance energy efficiency as a key focus of its innovations.
The journey toward greener technology at Hisense begins even before their products reach consumers. The Hisense Hitachi factory in Chuang-tao was recognized in 2025 by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as the world’s first “sustainability lighthouse” in the variable refrigerant flow (VRF) segment. This accolade highlights how AI-driven manufacturing can promote more efficient and eco-friendly production processes. Following this recognition, another facility, Hisense Visual Technology in Qingdao, was acknowledged by the WEF as a “customer focus lighthouse,” marking it as the first among television manufacturing facilities globally to obtain this prestigious status.
These dual accolades reflect a broader shift in Hisense's production network towards sustainability and operational excellence. This foundational commitment naturally carries over into the company's television offerings for 2026. The latest models are set to showcase energy-efficient hardware and smart features designed to minimize power consumption. Among the innovations is the upcoming UR9 series, which is scheduled for a global launch in April. This series introduces solar-powered remote controls in markets such as Europe and Australia, while adaptive light sensors and energy-saving modes will optimize brightness and energy use, enabling users to manage their electricity consumption more effectively.
Hisense's eco-friendly approach extends beyond just the products themselves. Their eco packaging uses FSC®100% certified wood and fiber materials sourced from responsibly managed forests. This reduces the environmental footprint throughout the manufacturing and distribution processes across Europe.
Moreover, the company is advancing sustainability assessments on a product level. The C3 laser projector is currently undergoing a life cycle assessment (LCA) and a product carbon footprint (PCF) evaluation by SGS. This enhances transparency regarding the environmental impact over the product's entire life cycle while promoting responsible consumer choices.
Many improvements in sustainability progress quietly, driven by technological advancements that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and prolong product life cycles without altering how consumers perceive technology. For Hisense, this embodies its vision of “Innovations for a Better Life,” creating technologies that enhance entertainment while sequentially reducing ecological impacts.
