SANKYO Supports the New Mobile Suit Gundam Film
SANKYO Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its promotional collaboration for the upcoming film, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash - Witch of Kyou," set to hit theaters nationwide on January 30, 2026. This much-anticipated film is the second installment in a trilogy, based on the novel by the original creator of Gundam, Yoshiyuki Tomino.
Director Shuichi Murase returns with a narrative that captures the essence of the Gundam universe. Set in the Universal Century, the film follows Hathaway Noah, the son of the Earth Federation Army Colonel Bright Noah, as he takes on the role of a young leader spearheading the anti-Earth Federation government movement called "Mafty."
As the story unfolds, audiences will witness Hathaway's struggle against an oppressive Earth Federation government. Armed with a mission to challenge the status quo, he navigates the complexities of leadership in a dangerous and uncertain world. His journey is complicated by his interactions with a mysterious girl, Gigi Andalucia, who evokes past traumas and influences his decisions as he prepares for the crucial Adelaide Conference assault.
The movie's plot plays out over 12 years after Char's rebellion, and audiences are invited to immerse themselves in a rich storyline filled with political intrigue, personal conflict, and the overarching theme of rebellion. Hathaway, alongside characters like Kenneth Sleg, the architect behind the Adelaide Conference's self-defense operations, must balance their intentions while Gigi embarks on her own journey to Hong Kong to fulfill her role.
