Exciting New Update for Monster Hunter Wilds
This is an exciting time for fans of the Monster Hunter series as Capcom announced an upcoming title update for
Monster Hunter Wilds set to be released on December 16. Featured in this update is the formidable ancient dragon known as
Gogmazios. This creature is shrouded in mystery, cloaked in a thick black liquid, and is often referred to as the
Giant Axe Dragon due to its fearsome appearance. In a recent digital showcase titled the
Monster Hunter Showcase, the full details of this update were unveiled, and a preview video was released, showcasing the new content players can look forward to.
Quest Challenges and New Features
With the introduction of Gogmazios, players will have the chance to tackle a special quest designed for a team of up to eight hunters, working together to defeat this powerful foe alongside characters like Nadia and Fabius. To take on this quest, hunters must have reached at least HR100 and first completed the main mission titled
The Birth of Budding. Completing an extra mission against Gogmazios will unlock a permanent event quest for continual engagement.
Crafting New Gear
One of the enticing features introduced in this update allows players to craft new hunter armor and companion gear using materials acquired from Gogmazios. Additionally, enthusiasts can enhance their existing weapons by utilizing special materials to upgrade to the
Giant Axe Arty Weapon. This new upgrade maintains any bonuses from the original Arty weapon, ensuring that players can continue to leverage their hard-earned advantages.
The
Giant Axe Arty Weapon can be equipped with both series and group skills, adding a layer of customization to gameplay strategies. Players can also partake in
Restoration Enhancement which allows the transfer or reset of restoration bonus categories to activate even more powerful bonuses. Moreover, there’s a chance for skill reassignment using dedicated materials to roll for new series and group skills.
Additional Elements
Alongside these exciting features, the update will provide further opportunities for weapon enhancement with
Limit Break Upgrades available for armor sets, thus expanding the limits for increased effectiveness against Gogmazios and other threats. New high-difficulty free quests featuring multiple ★9 monsters will also be available, yielding exclusive nameplate rewards for those brave enough to engage.
For those who enjoy challenges, a
Hunting Practice Quest against elite monsters has been added, while a new support hunter, Nadia, wielding a light bowgun, will join the quest team. Additionally, seasoned hunters will encounter
Raging Archdemon Jin Dahad, a more challenging variant of the original, providing new materials for crafting powerful gear.
Ongoing Events and Future Content
Starting December 24, the formidable Raging Archdemon Jin Dahad will appear in permanent event quests. Alongside this, downloadable contents such as nostalgic poses for photos, free grooming tickets, and the paid
Cosmetic DLC Pack 4 will also be launched on December 16, delivering a variety of options for player expression and customization.
Seasonal Festivities
As part of the winter celebrations, the
Intersecting Festival (Iwaiuta no Gi) will start between December 19, 2025, and January 14, 2026. This festive period will feature unique decoration in the gathering hub, special feasts, and exclusive items including gestures and decorations for simple camps.
Looking Towards the Future

Monster Hunter Wilds gears up for its final major update, gamers can expect a plethora of additional delicacies, such as the reveal of
Raging King Alshberdo and the winner of the original weapon and charm design contest. Furthermore, exciting collaborations with
Monster Hunter Stories 3 including special costumes and charms for your companions will be introduced.
