Celebrating 100 Years of ACCÈS
This year, ACCÈS, a renowned select shop operated by ACCÈS Co., Ltd., led by CEO Takahisa Takagaki, celebrates a significant milestone—its 100th anniversary since its founding in 1925. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the unwavering support of its loyal customers, for which the company is immensely grateful.
To commemorate this centennial celebration, ACCÈS organized a special event titled "a DAY by ACCÈS 2025," held in two vibrant cities: Hiroshima and Tokyo. The events unfolded on October 18th in Hiroshima (at ACCÈS Hiroshima and Alice Garden) and on October 31st in Tokyo (at Ginza Sony Park and Azabudai Hills Dining 33).
Hiroshima Event Highlights
The Hiroshima venue was transformed into a dazzling space dominated by stunning lighting and video displays. A special video presentation showcasing the history, present, and future of ACCÈS was created by visual artist Shinya Takaoka. In the heart of the city, the Alice Garden hosted a grand fashion show, marking the first such event in 21 years for ACCÈS. With 15 models walking a dynamic runway that flowed seamlessly through the urban setting, this spectacular show conveyed our mission to send cultural messages from Hiroshima to the world.
Among the highlights, the duo "Aoi Tsuki," consisting of performers Aoi Yamata and Tsuki Takamura, wowed the audience with an original performance titled "The Runway of 100 Years." This performance symbolized the dreams of ACCÈS’s founders and future aspirations through costumes made from traditional Uda paper resembling paper airplanes—captivating attendees alongside a mesmerizing drum performance by Steve Eto.
Following the fashion spectacle, a vibrant party unfolded at ACCÈS Hiroshima, featuring musical acts from DJs Mondo and Yamato, an electrifying performance from burlesque artist Kiri Shakure, and captivating displays from the global performer Robomon, enveloping guests in an atmosphere of celebration and cultural fusion.
Tokyo Event Highlights
In Tokyo, celebrations took place at two primary venues: Azabudai Hills Dining 33 and Ginza Sony Park. At Dining 33, a luxurious grand bistro curated by renowned French chef Kiyoshi Mikuni hosted a special dinner for approximately 100 guests, including partners, designers, and media representatives. The evening was graced by live performances from French cellist Robin Dupuy.
Meanwhile, Ginza Sony Park featured an engaging history exhibit chronicling the journey of ACCÈS over the past century, including exclusive 8mm footage captured during European market surveys by the previous CEO, Takagaki Yoshinobu, in the early 1970s. A special screening of the anniversary video showcased the company's rich heritage and visionary outlook for the future.
In celebration of this significant achievement, ACCÈS presented 60 exclusive collaborative items created in partnership with 30 domestic and international brands. Highlights included JIL SANDER's first bi-color design model 'CANNOLO' and Chloé's Japan-exclusive edition 'ALPHABET,' connecting a century of legacy with the future.
The exhibition featured designs integrating Japan's advanced denim technology with the creativity of international designers, emphasizing sustainability through transparent production methods.
The lively atmosphere continued in the basement party area, where DJ Toshi Matsuura and the Takashi Kurozawa Trio invigorated attendees with performances, creating a blend of music and vibrant entertainment.
An Unforgettable Celebration
Guests included numerous prominent personalities and fashion influencers, witnesses to heartfelt congratulatory messages from over 70 brands as well as a special photo call symbolizing the unity of the Takagaki family. A total of around 1,300 attendees graced both the Hiroshima and Tokyo festivities, marking this occasion as an extraordinary success.
Looking ahead, with gratitude towards all who have supported us throughout this journey, ACCÈS is committed to crafting even more value and inspirational experiences in the next century of its existence. Combining fashion and creativity, our aim is to continue evolving as a leading brand accessible to all lives.
