Super Dave Quinn Receives 2025 IAMC Economic Developer of the Year Award

Super Dave Quinn Named 2025 IAMC Economic Developer of the Year

On April 15, 2025, the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) honored Super Dave Quinn, a well-respected figure in economic development, as the recipient of the 2025 Economic Developer of the Year award. This prestigious accolade was presented during the IAMC's Spring Professional Forum held in Sacramento, California, and serves to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of economic development.

Quinn, the founder of Day One Experts and a representative of the Fairview Economic Development Corporation (EDC), accepted the award in memory of the late Mary Jo Hanover, a figure who greatly influenced the industry. In his acceptance speech, Quinn emphasized the significance of community connection and purpose-driven leadership, which he believes are essential for fostering successful economic development. He shared a vision rooted in cultivating relationships that drive meaningful change in communities.

The award underscores Quinn's commitment to mentorship and transformative leadership. He has a track record of facilitating significant projects and steering communities toward economic growth. "This honor is a testament to the collaborative spirit of economic development," Quinn noted in his speech. "I am immensely thankful for the support from Fairview EDC and from the many colleagues and communities that have played a part in this journey."

Quinn's career is marked by significant milestones, showcasing his exceptional skills and dedication. As Vice President of the Frisco EDC, he was instrumental in attracting $3 billion in capital investment, leading to the creation of 43,000 jobs and the development of 21 million square feet of commercial space. Additionally, as Executive Director at Bastrop EDC, he played an essential role in the city's recovery from the devastating 2011 wildfire disaster.

Further achievements include his tenure at Levelland EDC, where he oversaw landmark projects such as a $64 million Ethanol Plant and a significant industrial rail park. His leadership at the Texas Economic Development Connection helped streamline site selection and ease relocation challenges for growing businesses in the state.

In addition to his operational roles, Quinn is a recognized speaker and author, having penned two books that serve as vital resources for economic developers. His first book, "The Human Connection," provides guidance on how to leverage trust and authentic relationships in a digital-focused landscape. His second book, "Put The Damn Cart Up," challenges readers to take proactive steps toward achieving their goals, fostering a mindset of action over hesitation.

Quinn's contributions extend beyond his direct responsibilities; his involvement in several leadership roles, such as Chairman of Team Texas and The High Ground of Texas, emphasizes his vision for the future of economic development. His impact has resonated widely within IAMC, where he is considered a mentor and an advocate for collaborative efforts that benefit all members.

IAMC President and CEO J. Tate Godfrey acknowledged Quinn's admirable qualities, stating, "His influence transcends our membership, as he consistently proves to be a mentor and a passionate advocate for impactful initiatives that define our success."
