Collaborative Research on GABA by Yamamori and Universities
Yamamori Co., a comprehensive food manufacturer based in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, has successfully completed a significant collaborative research project with Chubu University and Nagoya University. The focus of the study was to investigate the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) on TNF-α-induced muscle protein breakdown. This innovative research utilized mouse myoblasts, specifically the C2C12 cell line, and has demonstrated that GABA can significantly inhibit the degradation of muscle proteins triggered by TNF-α.
