Huasun's Kunlun Series HJT Modules: Transforming Vertical PV Applications with Exceptional Bifaciality

Huasun Energy's Innovative Kunlun Series HJT Modules

Huasun Energy has made a groundbreaking announcement with the launch of its Kunlun Series heterojunction (HJT) solar modules, achieving an impressive bifaciality level nearing 100%. This next-generation technology is specifically designed for vertical photovoltaic (PV) installations, addressing significant land-use challenges while maximizing energy output and project efficiency.

Addressing the Need for High-Efficiency Solutions

The necessity for high-efficiency solar solutions has never been greater, especially in today's context where land scarcity and fluctuating electricity costs are prevalent. Huasun Energy's Chairman and CEO, Xiaohua (Jimmy) Xu, highlights this trend, stating, "Traditional PV systems are encountering increasing limitations due to land constraints. The Kunlun Series offers a revolutionary strategy that enhances revenue through dual-peak power generation in vertical deployments, ultimately improving energy security and economic returns."

Strategic Collaborations and Successful Projects

In a significant step toward sustainable agricultural practices, Huasun is collaborating with Germany's Next2Sun on innovative vertical PV initiatives. Their joint project includes a notable 5.2 MW installation located in Merzig-Wellingen. According to a project manager from Next2Sun, the Huasun HJT modules have exceeded performance expectations by an impressive 12%, effectively mitigating issues caused by snow and dust. This is achieved through their ability to capture sunlight reflected from the surrounding environment, which drastically boosts energy yield.

The symmetrical design of these bifacial modules not only enhances sunlight absorption but also significantly reduces light pollution and noise, presenting a seamless integration option that is environmentally sensitive.

Furthermore, a simulation of a 96.8 MW AC Agri-PV project in Blankenfelde, Germany, has demonstrated Huasun's ability to outperform conventional TOPCon panels. The 720W HJT modules yielded a remarkable 23.2% efficiency, leading to increased operational hours by 7.91% while effectively reducing land usage by 10 hectares. These enhancements resulted in an 8.72% decrease in Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) and a 3.76% increase in Internal Rate of Return (IRR), emphasizing the Kunlun Series' superiority in vertical solar applications.

Technological Advancements

The Kunlun Series HJT solar modules are not just suited for agricultural vertical installations but are designed for varied settings including transportation frameworks, architectural structures, and offshore environments. The modules exhibit ultra-low degradation rates—no more than 1% in the first year and just 0.3% annually thereafter. Additionally, their optimized temperature coefficient of -0.24% per degree Celsius guarantees long-lasting efficiency.

Huasun’s advanced encapsulation technology, incorporating materials like EVA, light conversion film, butyl adhesive, and glass-glass configuration, enhances overall durability. These innovations facilitate stable power output while reducing operational and maintenance costs, making Huasun modules a dependable selection for vertical PV systems.
