Andrew Bauer Takes the Lead at Adena Pike Medical Center
Adena Health recently unveiled the appointment of Andrew Bauer as the new senior operations executive officer at Adena Pike Medical Center, along with a vice president position for the health system's east and south regions. This transition will take effect on September 1, 2025, succeeding Dave Zanni, who has played a pivotal role in the hospital's development for over a decade.
Bauer, a local from Pike County, previously worked as the Director of Operations at the same medical facility. His prior experience under Zanni's leadership sets the stage for a smooth transition as he steps into this critical leadership role.
“I am deeply honored to continue the work that Dave has started,” Bauer remarked. “He has established a solid foundation and incredible momentum at Adena Pike Medical Center since its integration with the Adena Health family.”
Zanni, who is retiring after leading numerous advancements in service and infrastructure, has been a key figure in enhancing the hospital's role as a primary care center in Pike County and adjoining areas. During his tenure, Bauer closely collaborated with Zanni, contributing significantly to the hospital's progress and future direction.
“Andrew exemplifies the qualities of a remarkable leader; he addresses challenges with energy and grace,” Zanni stated. “His intelligence, commitment, and profound understanding of our community position him as the right choice to lead this facility.”
Under Zanni's guidance, the Adena Pike Medical Center has substantially enhanced its capabilities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the center demonstrated its ability to handle complex patient needs. Currently, the hospital supports close to 20 specialists across various fields, including behavioral health, cardiology, and orthopedics.
Looking forward, Bauer plans to expand access to specialized care and increase awareness of the services available to the community. “We’ve laid the groundwork for exciting growth,” he continued. “With support from our Adena Medical Group partners, we are paving the way for new clinical and operational developments across Pike County.”
Kathi Edrington, Chief Operating Officer of Adena, acknowledged Bauer’s leadership capabilities and his significant role in shaping the hospital’s evolution. “This appointment demonstrates our dedication to leveraging internal talent while pursuing regional growth and care excellence,” she noted.
Andrew, a graduate of Western High School, supports the local community by raising his family in Piketon, where his children attend school. His wife, Victoria, is also part of the Adena family, working at Adena Family Medicine – Piketon.
As Bauer prepares to take the reins, he reflects, “Dave has built a robust foundation; now it’s my responsibility to take this institution even further as our patients, staff, and community deserve nothing short of excellence.”
