Empowering Women Through Wine and Wills
Sass Magazine, in partnership with The Community Foundation of Frederick County, is excited to announce a unique event called
Wine and Wills, aimed at demystifying estate planning for women and individuals of all ages. Scheduled for August 27, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Brewer's Alley in Frederick, MD, this engaging gathering encourages attendees to sip wine, socialize, and gain essential insights into the world of estate planning. With tickets priced at just $15, attendees will also enjoy complimentary refreshments.
What to Expect
The evening will feature a panel of accomplished female attorneys who will address pertinent topics in a friendly, accessible manner. Participants will learn:
- - What a will does: Understanding the fundamental purpose of a will and why every adult should have one.
- - Debunking estate planning myths: Dispelling common misconceptions to encourage proactive planning.
- - Essential estate planning documents: Identifying crucial paperwork every adult should manage.
- - Protecting your legacy: How to ensure your values are reflected in your estate planning decisions.
This interactive format allows the community to feel at ease, making it more akin to a casual gathering with knowledgeable friends rather than a formal lecture. Guests will leave with a guidebook and resources for any follow-up questions they may have.
Celebrating Women’s Strength
Kim Dow, CEO and Publisher of Sass Magazine, emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive environment for women to learn about estate planning. She states,
"Sass Magazine celebrates women in every stage of life, and that includes helping them plan for their futures. Our goal with Wine and Wills is to empower women with the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their future decisions.”
This vision is shared by Elizabeth Y. “Betsy” Day, President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Frederick County, who highlights that,
"You don’t need to have a large estate to make an impact. A modest plan can reflect your values and ensure your resources are directed intentionally.”
