interCaribbean Airways Enhances Connectivity with New Routes
interCaribbean Airways is thrilled to unveil its newest nonstop flights from
Tortola to
Barbados and
St. Maarten, set to begin on
March 8, 2026. This strategic move marks a significant step in the airline's commitment to expanding travel options across the Caribbean region.
The upcoming service will feature
seven weekly flights between Tortola's
Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) and Barbados'
Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI). Notably,
four flights per week will be entirely nonstop, providing travelers with a direct route, while the remaining
three flights will make a brief stop at
Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten, ensuring continuous service to this popular destination.
With this expansion, interCaribbean Airways is poised to significantly enhance connectivity options from its Tortola hub. Passengers flying from Tortola will enjoy seamless access to Barbados and further connections to a variety of destinations including
Guyana, Grenada, St. Lucia, Trinidad, and
St. Vincent. Likewise, travelers in Barbados and the Southern Caribbean will benefit from greater accessibility to the Northern Caribbean through Tortola and St. Maarten.
Lyndon Gardiner, Chairman of interCaribbean Airways, emphasized the importance of this service expansion, stating, "Expanding nonstop options from Tortola has been a priority for us. Adding Barbados and St. Maarten as nonstop destinations gives BVI travelers access to our wider Caribbean network in both directions. For the British Virgin Islands, it reinforces our long-term commitment to the territory. We've been serving Tortola for ten years now, and we continue to invest in connectivity options for BVI residents and visitors."
This route enhancement is made possible by the airline's growing fleet, which now consists of
11 ATR turboprop aircraft. This expanded capacity will enable interCaribbean Airways to serve more destinations with increased frequency, rounding out its offerings for an ever-increasing demand in regional travel.
