Seven-Eleven Launches Tesla Supercharger for Enhanced EV Charging Convenience

Seven-Eleven Introduces Tesla Supercharger for EV Users

In a groundbreaking move, Seven-Eleven Japan has become the first convenience store chain to incorporate Tesla’s Superchargers, enhancing charging convenience for electric vehicle (EV) users. Starting from July 11, 2026, EV customers can take advantage of this new charging station located at the Seven-Eleven Kawasaki Komoguchi Higashi store in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Enhanced Charging Environment for EV Users

As part of its initiative to improve the convenience for EV drivers, Seven-Eleven has installed Tesla’s Superchargers, which are compliant with the North American Charging Standard (NACS). This significant step is intended to provide a more comfortable and varied charging experience. With a maximum output of 250 kW, the Superchargers promise a sufficient charge within approximately 15 to 30 minutes, allowing customers to charge their vehicles while shopping.

Plans are underway to install more Tesla Superchargers at other stores with ample parking space, with an estimated 10 additional locations expected to adopt this system by the end of the 2026 fiscal year.

Details of the Charging Equipment

The currently installed charging setup includes four Tesla Superchargers available to customers 24 hours a day at:
  • - Location: Seven-Eleven Kawasaki Komoguchi Higashi Store
  • - Address: 496 Komoguchi, Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture
  • - Charging Fee: 37 to 200 yen per minute (tax inclusive) as of July 11, 2026, depending on the charge output.

Overview of Tesla Supercharger

The Tesla Supercharger network is one of the largest fast-charging infrastructures globally, with over 80,000 stations worldwide. In Japan alone, there are 744 Superchargers located at 150 sites nationwide, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south (as of the end of May 2026). The majority of domestic charging stations with a capacity above 150 kW are Tesla Superchargers. Establishing a seamless charging environment is crucial for integrating EVs into everyday society, ensuring drivers can find a charging station easily regardless of their location. Tesla remains committed to expanding its network to allow drivers to plug in and charge effortlessly wherever they go.
